Perspective from Mont Saint Michel
Yes, today may be Monday. And most people do not like Mondays. But I changed my perspective on Mondays a long time ago.
Let me explain. But first, let’s look these two photos. In the photo on the left, you may not know what it’s a picture of. (The title of the blog may have given it away: Mont Saint-Michel is a stunning medieval abbey and village perched on a rocky tidal island in Normandy, France. Surrounded by vast sandbanks and dramatic tides, it has served as a monastery, pilgrimage site, and strategic fortress since the 8th century. Today, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, attracting visitors with its breathtaking Gothic architecture, winding streets, and panoramic views of the bay.)
The day we visited was raining. It was cold. Nonetheless I was excited to tour the site and learn more about it.
In the picture on the right, you can more clearly see the abbey. But here’s the kicker. Had I stayed in the position where I took the picture on the left, I would not have been able to capture the better photo on the right.
The difference? Only one foot. Photos were taken less than thirty seconds apart.
Let me say that again: By merely moving less than a foot to my right, my perspective (and my photo) turned out completely differently.
You have the power to change your position and your view!
Yes, some of the changes in my life have required much, much more than just moving a few inches. But determination and willingness to accept change – no matter how difficult – is imperative to your future successes. You owe it to yourself!
Oh, and back to Mondays … Another way I changed my perspectives about Mondays? Simple. Much like being a child and being excited by Christmas Eve, I started thinking about Mondays the same way. Mondays are Taco Tuesday Eve!
